Our measure

We have always worked to put the customer's needs at the heart of our business, and we want to be able to see ourselves as a customer. All customers are equally important, from one-person consultants to multinational companies.

Our goal

To continue to be a leading supplier of handheld computer systems for the power industry in Sweden, and to expand our share of inspection systems in other markets.

The history of the SIB

SIB Elkraft & Data AB was founded in 1984 & was then called Söderkvist Ingenjörs Byrå El as a consulting company by Lennart Söderkvist. In 1985, Lennart’s twin brother Gösta Söderkvist started working at SIB. They worked together until 1990 when Gösta received an offer as Plant Manager at Värmdö Energi. Gösta later became a power plant manager. Gösta continued in the industry as CEO of Leksand Rättvik Elverk but is now CEO of Sollentuna Energi.

From 1986, SIB started to develop handheld computer & PC systems for Pole Inspection, Ground Measurement, Balancing etc. This was done alongside the regular consultancy business they ran. The systems were developed together with KTH students.

In 1995 Peter Rosén was hired as responsible for system development & Peter is still responsible today. In 1996, SIB began working with another company, UPEK, run by Björn Ekström. Together they continued to develop handheld computers. Together with UPEK, SIB developed a rounding system for nuclear power plants, which has been updated in recent years for OKG 1. Over the years, SIB has cooperated with REJLERS EnergiTjänster with a standardized settlement system & meter replacement system that was used by most of Svenska kraftergi when all meters were to be replaced. Today, SIB has developed the system for maintenance.

In 2006, SIB was approached by a Slovenian company interested in AvCAD. SIB visited and installed AvCAD and started a collaboration with a Slovenian company that is now a reseller for AvCAD.

In 2008 SIB’s Inspection System, Protocol & AvCAD system became the standard for Vattenfall in Sweden.

The year 2011 marks 25 years since SIB was founded as a consulting company, which has fostered a strong culture where every employee is passionate about business value. The mission is to increase customer profitability by offering the most quality-assured handheld computer systems on the market. Today, SIB provides handheld computer solutions to over 100 loyal customers and maintains the highest quality of service in the market. In the same year, SIB moved from its 17-year-old premises on Lidingö to Brunnsgatan in Stockholm. SIB has also delivered a system to a boatyard for winter storage of boats. In 2012, SIB delivered its first Android system for meter reading.

The SIB is currently independent of the industry. In other words, SIB offers handheld computer-based solutions to customers in all types of business across different industries.

Market shares

SIB currently has about 90% of the Swedish market for many systems.
Financial information: since its inception in 1984, SIB has always developed all systems with its own capital and delivers complete systems to the market. The equipment purchased for the enterprise in the form of computers, field computers, telephones, furniture, vehicles, etc. is purchased only with equity capital.

SIB's business concept

To provide the market's most quality-assured & cost-effective PC & handheld computer systems for all types of business through close customer relations.
